The Mud Dauber Wasps have made nests in the entire King Hall building. Their Queen is Joyce, but she goes by Your Majesty. Her two worst helpers, Conner and Scott, come back from a 10 year trip around the building with no food except for mud. The Queen is surprised that they survived, so she needs some ideas to get rid of them PERMANENTLY!
AFTER THE QUEEN WAKES UP, WHICH IS 8:45:
"Silence!" her Majesty shouts to Conner (Scout 1) and Scott (Scout 2). "Those two are imbeciles, but I must not show weakness. To get rid of them, I should send them on a mission where they'll never come back. Mwahahahahahaha! I am such a genius!" she screeches in her head." Scout 1 and 2, you must embark on a dangerous mission to room 4057 to spy on the inhabitants to see how dangerous and how "modern" they are." she spat at them.
"Yes ma'am, we'll do it ma'a - I mean Your Majesty," Conner says with a mean look on his face.
"Fine, if you say so," Scott said in a pampered bug tone. Once they get there, Scott is too tired to start spying on the room 4057 "people," so Conner starts out.
Conner's Log
9:00- The students arrive in room 4057 with two older "people." Meanwhile, I position myself inside of a hole on the wall.
9:10- Most of the students walk up to the front desk and take books and pens. What they are for? I have no idea.
9:11- The leader with glasses informs the students that an optional thing that they can do, is write about their favorite food.
9:11- One of the leaders takes out a device called a "phone." He taps it multiple times and different things pop up on the surface. This is very peculiar. Then, he calls out,"Sixteen minutes! Ready... begin!" I sit up. Sixteen minutes?! Did he activate a bomb for countdown? I must monitor them even closer.
9:13- Students start something called Morning Pages. Everyone writes in their books with their pens or pencils.
9:20- The older man, Ted, says,"The more you write, the more your imagination grows." Some students write this in their books. I am surprised at their maturity and will notify the queen about this non-dangerous behavior, completely contrary to the Queen's words.
9:26- The older people called teachers request that Isabella, a student, goes to their desk. They talk in whispers. I fly over there stealthily and look at the big device on the desk. I am not very good at speaking "people language," or reading it, but manage to decipher a couple of lines of words. They say," I am from palm trees. (Shiny, green, it smelled like soap.)" This seems to be some sort of secret language.
9:27- A peaceful sound emanates from the device Ted called a phone. In fact, it has been exactly sixteen minutes since he set it up. It must just have been an alarm.
9:30- Isabella shares her favorite food, which is spring rolls with shrimp in them. That sounds delicious!
9:31- Jadalan's favorite foods are pan de sol and mamon. I have no idea what that is, but it sounds great.
9:32- Audrey's favorite food is a Hawaiian originated food called spam musubi. All these foods are making me hungry!
9:35- Ted shows pictures of the food with a contraption called a projector.
9:36- When, Eunice says that ramen is her favorite food, Ted talks about the multiple varieties of ramen.
9:40- Some students adjust their poems to sound more poetic.
9:48- Ted tells everyone that descriptive writing and details are very important in poetry.
9:50- A student, wearing a red t-shirt, comes in the room and gives papers to Ted. Nicholas waves and says,"Hi!" and "Bye!" as the student enters and leaves the room.
9:51-10:01- Students continue adjusting the poems that Claudia, the other "teacher," typed up on the computer.
10:04- Ted goes to a homepage that one of the students created. After looking at the page and finding that it had videos on it, Anthony stated,"I love Charlie the Unicorn! I'm addicted to it!" Many laugh at this outburst.
10:13- Two students give their report. It is called an ethnography report, similar to what I am doing, but written by an alien! I must watch out for this alien John. Everyone applauds them for their work. I offer my applause, but is not heard due to the students' applause.
10:20- The students watch a video made by someone named Weird Al. It doesn't make much sense to me but, many people laugh. Ted laughs the most.
10:31- The students clean up and head out to break. Some take bags with them. Me? I, of course, follow them without a single buzz.
10:32- They divide into two groups and walk into a machine called an "elevator." It is a big metal box that has doors. When the doors open, my jaw dropped to the floor. We were in a different world! That machine must have been a portal of some sort.
10:40- Students stuff coins and paper into a "vending machine." Then, this strange box pukes out snacks and drinks. I am intrigued by this technology.
10:43- I followed the students to a grassy field. A lot of people were wearing red shirts as they posed. Snap! Someone was holding a "camera." I had learned about these devices on my 10 year journey around the school.
10:50- A boy named Matthew has been robbed of $1.50 and two Nerf darts have been put in the money's place.
11:10- Everyone goes back through the portal and back into room 4057.
11:12- I give up spying and go back to Scott.
AFTER BREAK:
"Ughhhhhhhhh, I'm sooooooooo tired!" Conner complains. "Hey, maybe I could take over the shift, while you just sit back and relax, just for a change," Scott suggests. "Sure, why not!" Conner replies, "Now you need to check them out, they're quite amazing, and I'm not joking." So, Scott starts his spying and sees this:
Scott's Log
11:15- Ted instructs them to start editing pieces of writing called "memoirs." This is very useful information that seems to be advanced.
11:17- Ted and Claudia help edit students' memoirs. They seem to know what they're doing.
11:29- Andrew drinks from a container of water.
11:36- Andrew walks to the trash can and bumps a chair on his way back. He receives many stares.
11:40- Another student, wearing a red t-shirt, comes in the room and whispers with Ted. Nicholas waves and says,"Hi!" and "Bye!" as the student enters and leaves the room. A few laugh.
11:43-11:46- Nicholas waves his hand continuously, signifying that he needs help, but Claudia and Ted do not notice him. I laugh at this.
11:47- Nicholas stops waving his hand.
11:48- Nicholas waves his hand as Ted turns around. Ted sees him and finally helps him.
11:49-11:51- Students continue to write quietly. I am surprised at how quiet and focused they are. I expected them to be running around like crazy monkeys. They do not seem to be dangerous at all. I am actually starting to be fond of them.
11:52 Ted gives a mini-lesson. He says that:
Thoughts and emotions are important pieces in a story for humor and understanding.
Then, he reads a story that he wrote.
He asked the students what was missing from the story.
Someone shouts out loudly,"Thoughts and emotions!"
Ted agrees and shows them another story that was revised. I liked the revised one a lot better. It showed thoughts and was longer.
This teacher is very good at teaching. I must report this fact to the Queen.
12:20- Three students, one boy and two girls, read their memoirs. I think that they are very good.
12:25- Everyone cleans up and seven people called "Readers" leave first.
12:27- Everyone else leaves.
12:28- I crawl out of my hiding place, stretching my limbs. Then, I run to Conner, who was sleeping. "Wake up!" I yell in his ear. He wakes up automatically. "Let's go report our results to the Queen!" I shout at him as I fly as fast as I can. He follows me and finally we reach the castle, ready to report our results.
Reporting Back To The Queen:
"Your Majesty, Your Majesty, look what we found out!" both scouts shout in unison as they enter the throne room. "What is - oh, you're back," she sighs.
"We wrote the notes about the 'people' in room 4057, and it was very different than what we expected," Conner explained.
"Read it!" they both screamed pointing to another wasp holding the record book.
